Solo Exhibition by Arlet Gómez

Curated by Sergio Gomez.

Presented by 33 Contemporary Gallery at the Palm Beach Art & Design Showroom, New Zip Code is a solo exhibition by Cuban-American artist Arlet Gómez.

Through painting, mixed media, and site-specific wooden installations, the exhibition explores the emotional architecture of belonging. Childhood memories, migration, imagination, and faith converge in a body of work where sandcastles become cities, drawings become blueprints, and play becomes a way of envisioning home.

Inspired by personal experiences of displacement and renewal, New Zip Code reflects on the human impulse to build places long before we inhabit them. Throughout the exhibition, children construct imagined worlds while linear wooden structures extend beyond the paintings, transforming drawings of houses, castles, and boats into walkable forms within the gallery space.

The works invite viewers to consider how identity is shaped through memory, hope, and the places we carry within us. In New Zip Code, imagination becomes structure and vision becomes blueprint, offering a reflection on the search for belonging, resilience, and the possibility of new beginnings.
